About Me

Hi, I’m Anca.

The Velvet Gavel was created from a simple belief:

People should not feel powerless simply because they do not understand a process, system, or situation.

My journey did not begin with a perfect plan. It began with experience, resilience, curiosity, and a desire to understand how people can better navigate the challenges life places in front of them.

Over the years, I have seen how easily people become overwhelmed when faced with important decisions, complex processes, difficult circumstances, or unfamiliar systems. Often, the problem is not a lack of capability — it is a lack of clear information, structure, and understanding.

I know what it feels like to wish someone would simply explain the process, help organise the information, or point you in the right direction.

That understanding became the foundation of The Velvet Gavel.

Why I Created The Velvet Gavel

The Velvet Gavel began as a blog and educational platform.
My original goal was to explore real-life situations, discuss legislation and processes in plain language, and help people better understand the systems that affect everyday life.
As the platform grew, I realised that many people were not only looking for information — they were looking for clarity.
Some needed help organising information.
Some needed assistance preparing documents.
Others simply needed someone to help them make sense of a situation that felt overwhelming.
Today, The Velvet Gavel combines educational content, research, awareness, and practical support services designed to help individuals and small businesses organise information, prepare documents, and communicate more clearly.
My goal is not to tell people what to think or what decisions to make.
My goal is to help people better understand their situation, organise their information, and feel more confident taking the next step.

Beyond The Velvet Gavel

Outside of my work, I care deeply about education, personal growth, animal welfare, mental wellbeing, and helping people find practical solutions to difficult situations.
I believe that some of the most meaningful changes happen when people feel heard, supported, and equipped with the knowledge they need to move forward.
I am continuously learning, growing, and expanding my knowledge so that I can continue building something meaningful through The Velvet Gavel — one conversation, one story, and one step at a time.
